Brian was born in Liverpool, England and immigrated to Canada in 1967. He has lived in Edmonton, Saskatoon and Kamloops as well as in the Lower Mainland. He has also lived and worked in England, the United States and Saudi Arabia.
Brian’s career evolved from being an engineer to training engineers to training managers to consulting with managers on change and stress in organizations. He has been listed in Canadian Who’s Who as an educator, management consultant and stress researcher. He has also been an engineer, a human resources manager and a lay minister. Semi-retired, Brian is currently doing research on wisdom in organizations and developing a related management consulting practice.
His academic achievements include an engineering degree (Liverpool) and a MBA (Alberta). He also has a PhD from Cornell University in Organizational Behaviour, Research Methods & Statistics and Occupational Mental Health. However, Brian has never let his schooling interfere with his education.
Brian serves on the Board of the Brock House Society, where he chairs the Outreach Committee and the Strategic Planning Team. He has also served on several church committees at different levels and was a volunteer at the Vancouver Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre.
