Eva Wadolna is serving her third term as a member of the Seniors Advisory Committee. She is currently on the Transportation and Mobility Subcommittee, and was previously a member of the Communication and Outreach Subcommittee, as well as the Chair of the Housing Subcommittee.
Eva has represented the Committee on the Transportation 2040 Plan Advisory Committee and ensuing Stakeholder Advisory Group. She has also contributed to the City’s Age-Friendly Action Plan Advisory Committee, various Healthy City discussions, and the Active Transportation Policy Committee.
She served two terms on board of the West End Seniors’ Network (2009-2014), contributing to the development of the West End Community Plan, the WESN-managed Better at Home Program, and the New Horizon funded WE Are Safe project. She is continuing with her support of West End seniors through the West Ends Seniors Planning Table.
Eva’s past engagements include being an affordable housing advocate, a board member of the Entre Nous Housing Society, manager of Shalom Seniors’ Housing Society, and a speaker at BC Non-Profit Housing Association conferences.
Eva’s passion is healthy aging, which she promotes through ongoing engagement in the “Patients as Partners” initiative of the BC Ministry of Health, VCH (CEAN), and Providence Healthcare. Her support for environmental issues is channeled through Suzuki Elders/David Suzuki Foundation.
Eva’s educational background includes community planning, business, psychology, and gerontology. She was a senior planner in Edmonton; a member of the Calgary Board of Variance; and an urban planning and transportation consultant.
Eva owned a management consulting firm in Canada and Europe, whose clients included the Government of Canada, the European Union, the UN-DP, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Commercial Bank BRE, POLINVEST Management Co. and Corporate Profiles in Brussels.
Eve has been a member for over 15 years of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP) and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).
